On Memorial Day, there are lots and lots of
motorcyclists in DC. They work closely with the MIA/POW groups and lots of them are veterans as well. The weekend
ends with a huge rally called Rolling Thunder. The bikers all meet in the Pentagon parking lot and parade over the bridge into DC, go around the perimeter of the National Mall and gather near the Lincoln Memorial.
We took the kids over near Arlington National
Cemetary to watch several hundred motorcycles go by. It really was loud- hence the whole "Rolling Thunder" title!
Of course, there were plenty of strange sites, but not many we could snap a quick picture of. Oh well, we will try harder next year!
