We got to see all the parts of the mill and the kids enjoyed it. The mill wasn't running that day, but it was interesting to see all the parts and the big water wheel that drives the whole process.
Love,
Brock and Grace had two days off last week. We used one day for Parent-Teacher conferences (both had great comments from their teachers and wonderful report cards) and we used the other day to go downtown.
We decided to visit the Air and Space Museum on the National Mall. We enjoyed the exhibits and went to the Einstein Planetarium. A good time was had by all!
When we were done at the museum, it was a beautiful day and we walked across the Mall to Chinatown. Along the way, we stopped by the National Gallery of Art's outdoor sculpture garden. They are installing the newest piece of art, "Graft" by Roxy Paine-who says this blog isn't timely?! "Graft" is a 45 foot tall silver tree and looks pretty neat!
Our other favorite sculpture is this huge bunny! Meet "Thinker on a Rock" by Barry Flanagan. We wonder what he is thinking about!
