A pair of doves has made a nest in one of the hanging baskets on our front porch. The front window allows all of us to watch the birds and the babies on a daily basis. This was a great time for the family as well as the neighborhood kids.
Here are our two eggs....
Doves sit on their nest all the time. We only got to see the eggs once or twice when the mommy or daddy bird got spooked and flew away for a few minutes. Most of the time, they were sitting on their eggs. When they did hatch, we didn't even know it for a few days!
Twice a day- usually around 7am and 5pm, the mommy bird and daddy bird would have a shift change. This was the time we would try and hang out in the window and check the eggs. Today we saw babies!
