Brock's Confirmation

Brock was confirmed at our church yesterday!  He has been going to class since January.

There was a class of 24 kids at church for the ceremony.

As we approached the front, I reminded Brock that he was wearing a white dress at his baptism as well!

Here is the class.  Made up of 22 6th graders and Brock (8th grade) and Owen (9th grade).  At least they put Brock and Owen together!

Love,

Rugby down time

It was a beatiful day for the tournament.  We had quite a bit of down time between games. (We were at the park for about 12 hours yesterday!) Since we were an hour from home, we all just got to hang out together under the shelters and tents.  Thank God for the person who came up with the "easy up" tents!  It makes hanging out on the sidelines at these all day events much more appealing!

Brock's had no problem getting comfy!

Rugby Tournament

Brock had an all day rugby tournament yesterday in Marshall, Virginia.  It was the championship tournament for the spring middle school teams.  Brock and his team played four games.  Brock played very well- he scored at least once in every game.  In the end, his team came in second but his coaches were pleased with all the boys and their effort.

At the end of the championship game, Brock was surprised to be awarded the MVP award for the whole tournament.  The refs of each game got to vote and they picked Brock! (the refs are usually the coaches from the other teams who are not playing.)

He is exhausted and thrilled!

Gracie's Dream Car

We saw this car on the way to rugby yesterday.  Gracie took the picture- I think it might be her dream car!

New breaker box

Here is the new breaker box.  Much bigger and lots more room for all the wires.

All closed up and ready to go!  Glad to have a new one and have everything up and running again!

Adventures in electricity......

Here is the main breaker box at the house.  Installed in 1977 and lived a good life.

Here are the original guts.  Crowded and scary looking!

Here is where the 200 amp component was "arcing" and buzzing.

This shows where the unit had been heating up and burning....

The silver part with the two circular burn marks is the "bust bar."  Like my new electrician terms?!
Apparently things were not good and the whole thing needed to be replaced.

Gracie sings!

Gracie's school choir had a concert last week.  It was great.  Grace is in the back row, right, second from the end.  She got to play to maracas and they all sounded great!

New gravel

We got new gravel on trail behind the house.  It looks nice and people like it, but it must hurt Daisy's feet.  She won't walk on the trail!
