8th grade dance

8th grade dance was fun for Brock and his friends.  They met before the dance at Megan's house for a few pictures.

After pictures, they went to the dance.

After the dance they all went to TGI Fridays for dinner.  It was a nice evening!

Medieval Day

Grace enjoyed Medieval Day in 5th grade this week.  The class wrapped up a study on Medieval Life.  The kids came dressed up and they had a whole day of crafts, games and lunch.

Grace was a serf, but most of her friends were noblewomen, queens and ladies in waiting.  Poor Grace......

We had a lunch with no utensils- chicken, bread and corn.  It was a fun day!

Brock had his end of season picnic for rugby this weekend.  For the season, Brock was picked "Pack MVP".  They awarded him this orange and white rugby shirt. His friend Marshall was awareded "MVP Overall" and got the orange and blue shirt.  Calvin, another friend, was awarded "Most Improved" and got the gray and white shirt.

Rock the Mall!

This weekend was the Girl Scouts of America's Rock the Mall event at the National Mall.  Girl Scouts from every state and around the world met at the Washington Monument for a huge sing along.  Gracie and I joined her troop at the event. It was a blast!

There were several stages, singers from places like American Idol and plenty of little girls.

It was warm in the afternoon, so a truck from one of the DC fire stations came out and hosed down the crowd.  Gracie and the girls loved it!

Pakistani Potato salad

Ever had Pakistani Potato salad?  It is very colorful and yummy with creamy spices.

Tomatoes!

Since Mike is gone, we only have one tomato plant this year.  We planted him in a huge pot from Costco and he is very happy on the deck in the sunshine!

We picked our first ripe tomatoes this week.

We ate them in a salad last night and they were wonderful.  Happy Tomato Season!
