Pink things we saw in Tokyo

 
The Hello Kitty bus was not actually pink but Grace E wanted her picture taken with it. It was a double decker bus with a full sized DV lower half for Hello Kitty passengers.
 
Don't even ask me what in the world this thing is but somehow it is supposed to promote the Tokyo tower.
 
This was a very nice pink lilly at the entrance of the New Sanno Military Hotel where we stayed at.
 
This was a very colorful fountain at the drive up entrance to the Hotel.

Find yourself a portable ashtray of your personal choice. You'd always want to carry it around with you.
 
Have you ever seen the white bellied Go away bird? Maybe you can set one of these on your porch for unwanted solicitors.
 
Who does not know that Snoopy is the world famous beagle?

On our way to Narita AP to pick up the Grand-Cones we stopped at McDonalds for lunch. There was a group of local school girls looking at us in the window like we were in the zoo. I walked out with Grace to get a picture because I figured they wanted to see her blonde hair. Grace was a little nervous because they kept touching her hair and when I started to take a picture they said Boy, boy, boy...
 
I finally figured out they wanted to take a picture with the cute boy. They kept saying we like boy, boy is cute. I don't think B & G understood why they wanted to see them so much but they seemed to enjoy the attention. 

Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses

 

Our very brave friends hosted a DVD viewing party for "Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses". This brave family has two daughters of their own who keep track of and celebrate each and every one of Barbie's movies. (If you haven't seen any of them consider yourself lucky!)

 

The huge pack of small girls who live in our neighborhood flocked to their house dressed in their princess finery. There was much dancing, pizza eating and of course, Barbie watching.

 

As a result of the movie, there are actually twelve distinct Barbie princesses hitting the market as we speak. Do the Barbie people have no shame at all??? Twelve princesses? It is a parental nightmare...

 

Oh well, at least we don't have to rent the movie!

Brock is Nine!

Happy Birthday Brock!

Brock had his bowling party on his birthday. He had a great party and enjoyed his friends and his gifts! 

 

Are you ready for some football?

 
Brock & Grace started their new fall football season in flag football and cheerleading.
 
Brock's team is the Raging Rockets and they had an OK start. I will try and get some more pics later as I had to man the down marker. Brock caught a pass from his buddy Jonathan. He currently is playing center on offense and defensive end on the line.
 
Grace was very excited to be on her cheer squad of about a dozen kindergarten girls. There were several girls in her class that are cheering with her. Their names are Kendyl, Delaney, Yazmyne & another I cant remember.
 
This is one of their favorite cheers they do at halftime for the crowd. It goes: "Popcorn Popcorn on the Train, lets see "Grace" do her thing...Oo sha walla walla oo sha bang bang, Oo Sha walla walla oo sha bang bang". During the sha walla walla portion the girl is supposed to do her thing and at the end they all jump and scream alot. 

Almost there

 
We finally made it to the school yard to drop her off after 5 and a half years. She said "I'm ready Mom, you can just let me go on from here, I know where to go." MB had mixed emotions of joy of letting her little bird go but had some sorrow that she is growing up, too.

This is where Ms G waits for her Kindergarten class to start. Her little buddy Joe is in the front of thel ine with the Yellow shirt. It seemed like all the parents were excited to see their kids off and the kids were all ready to go.

It was a very nice cool and sunny day for Ms G to start Kindergarten. She was definitely ready to go. Her friends were excited too and wanted to walk to school with her.

Pre Breakfast 1st day of Kindergarten Fashion Show

 
Ms G was very excited to start her first day of Kidergarten. She shows off her new skirt with a black cat on it and her napkin for her lunch that she plans to take every day unless they are having pizza dippers in the food line. She has to remember her 4 digit # so they can charge her account. MB helped her remember the 4 digit code by thinking of several ages of her, Brock & Max.

Labor Day Beach Bash

 
The 4 Vs went down to the base beach for the Labor Day beach bash. MB was on a mission to be the first one to ride the boat becuase last year the line was a long wait. The weather was warm but nice and we may have been the second to get a ride in the speed boat. Brock enjoyed the ride thoroughly and askd the boat captain to go faster.

The Japanese electric cars are always a hit with the kids. Grace, Grace & Jacob were trying to out manuever each other. 

Kammako Land- Towada Horse Park

Over the weekend, we took Mike to "horse park" in Towada. (Kids and I made our first visit here with Elizabeth and the church ladies in July) Towada has a long history of raising horses all the way back to feudal Japan days. They have a museum that is surrounded by a horse themed playground and they have a stable of horses that the kids can ride, pet and feed. All in all a good time for the whole family.

There is a very long "roller" slide that winds down the hill toward the main playground. You come down the rollers on foam kickboard type things- otherwise your fanny gets really warm!



The kids were able to ride the horses.


There was even a little pony pulling a cart for the kids thru the park!


This is quickly becoming one of the kids' favorite parks in the area.

Here's B & G doing their thing. Ms G likes her summer white jumper on a nice warm day. Note B likes to button his shirt all the way up. You can get him to wear a collared shirt if you bribe him with a buffet at the club. Lil sis snuggles into big Bro.
